Outkitted publishes work from a small set of trusted contributors — and it grows slowly, on purpose. Here's what runs, what I expect, and how to raise your hand.

What Outkitted publishes

• Field notes and post-trip shakedowns with real numbers behind them.
• Gear reviews tied to gear you actually own and use.
• Loadouts with real weights and prices.
• Practical guides — skills, destinations, and trip planning.
• Watchlist recommendations: outdoor videos genuinely worth someone's time.

Who I'm looking for

People with real miles in a pursuit Outkitted covers — backpacking, fly fishing, one-bag travel, EDC, camp & overland — or in the intersections between them. Different bodies, budgets, regions, and experience levels are the point, not an obstacle. You don't need a following; you need field experience and a willingness to show your work.

Editorial expectations

• Transparency labels. Every piece declares how its claims were earned — no post may claim field use that hasn't happened. Read how the labels work.
• Disclosure. You declare gear relationships — free products, industry ties, sponsorships — before publication. It runs with the piece.
• Originality. Work must be yours and unpublished elsewhere. No AI-generated reviews, no rewritten spec sheets.
• Photography rights. Images must be yours or properly licensed, with rights to publish. No lifted product photos.

The review process

Proposals go to the Editor by email. Accepted pieces move through draft → review → revision → approval, and the Editor publishes. Publication is not guaranteed at any step, and Outkitted may edit for clarity and consistency — you'll see the edited version before it runs. There is no open publishing and no timeline promise; one post a week, no filler, cuts both ways.
